Who is an Instructional Designer?

An Instructional Designer applies the systematic methodology (rooted in instructional theories and models) to design and develop content, experiences, and other solutions to support the acquisition of new knowledge or skills.

SARA stands for SEE ASK RISE ACADEMY. We will see, ask, and rise together Here.

I have experience designing, developing, and teaching photography courses using Canvas, Padlet, Rise-360, and Google Docs. Since I have a background in Sports Science, specializing in Physical literacy, Badminton, Motor Learning, and development, I plan to develop some courses in this field. COVID-19 has affected us as badminton coaches. One of my long-term goals is helping students who don’t have access to on-site classes and facilities and enabling them to achieve their academic goals. The use of offline courses and educational programs and downloading them on tablets is something that I would like to facilitate for this purpose.

In today’s challenging situation in the world that we are living in due to COVID-19 Pandemic, it is very important to communicate effectively to have a better understanding of each other’s needs and desires. I believe that through the course work and skills acquired through the Master of Instructional Design and Technology program at The University of Tampa I was given the opportunity to learn more about the effective ways to communicate in virtual educational environments. In this program, I have learned from professors, students, and subject matter experts about real-world problems and how to solve them. Challenges and opportunities together have made this journey more interesting. Combining my previous knowledge and understanding with the current skills have helped me to be able to provide more effective courses to teach to my students and also develop courses for the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in other fields.
